Aspen
Square 410
Aspen, Colorado
Size: 498 square feet
Completion Date: December 2007
Hospitality
Design Magazine, 2008 HD Award - Condo Hotel
A contained surprise
within a larger condominium hotel, the complete renovation of this
unit transforms the space into a modern studio of hospitality.
Key space planning and storage programming allow the owners to
bring only themselves when visiting, and provide international
travelers all the comforts of a boutique hotel. The natural maple
millwork, plank limestone floors and Blue slate fireplace create
a serene environment and allow the seasonal colors of the mountainside
to take center stage. Custom built-in furnishings unify the space
and include: a sleeping platform with integrated nightstands, a
desk, lockers, an entry bench and a dopp kit station. A light column
of 3Form resin panels and a rolled steel TV niche are modern details
that add visual interest to the space. The re-introduction of Unit
410 allows Aspen Square, one of Aspen’s beloved hospitality
properties, to offer up an example of Aspen’s new modern
comfort.
