  Business Technology Office
Stamford, Connecticut
Size: 12,000 square feet
Completion Date: 1998
Sarah Broughton with Kliment & Halsband Architects

This contemporary office is the prototype design for McKinsey & Company's International Technology Management Consulting Offices. The design focuses on creating "public" spaces where the consultants, who spend only 20% of their time in the office, can interact and team build. A central cafe acts as a focal point, with acoustically sound private offices clustered onto "streets" with open views to the exterior radiating out along the perimeter. An exposed cable rail tray connects the office pods to the central nerve center. This project was the recipient of the 2000 New York State AIA Award.
