  Camp Gable
Aspen, Colorado
Size: 6,262 square feet
Completion Date: Fall 2005

The existing house had an unresolved roof line creating compromised interior spaces. The client, a family with four children, wanted to "clean-up" the upper level public rooms. The interior improvements quickly become a redesign of the entire upper level of the house to create a rational roof line that translates to good proportioned interior spaces. Windows are expanded to take advantage of the mountain views in several directions. Custom structural trusses support the roof framing and define the great room's axis. Exterior materials of wood, metal and stucco delineate the volumes and are painted to compliment the wooded, park-like lot.
