  Denver Options 360
Denver, Colorado
Size: 4,515 square feet
Completion Date: Fall 2009

For the new home of the Denver 360 program, R+B designed and renovated two spaces in Five Points Plaza in the heart of Denver’s Historic Five Points District. A once proud and thriving neighborhood long in decline, it was important for the entire team that this program be located within the community they serve and accessible by public transportation. The project sends a message of renewal by showing investment that extends far beyond the cost of construction. The program provides family counseling services and helps parents prepare for and find employment. The driving design concept was to create offices, classrooms and training spaces that are professional and welcoming for Denver 360’s customers. The modest, clever design focuses on simple, warm finishes to create an inviting environment. In the reception area, colorful ceiling clouds of Tectum acoustical panels and pendant lights create charm and reduce the scale of the existing space. The clouds subtly reference the mission of the 360 program.

Sustainable components of the project include:
Low VOC paint by Benjamin Moore
Broadloom carpet by Bolyu is CRI GreenLabel Plus certified; fiber contains 25% recycled content and Puralex, which draws impurities and odors from the air
Acoustical ceiling tile by CertainTeed with 52% recycled content
Fluorescent lighting was replaced with more energy efficient models
Wallcovering by Wolf Gordon is produced with water based technology without heavy metals
Furniture by Teknion is produced with recycled content MDF, particleboard and steel; contains low VOC components; and uses water-based stains
