  Ellina Restaurant
Aspen, Colorado
Size: 2,975 Square Feet
Completion Date: December 2009

Ellina is Aspen's newest restaurant by Food Network Iron Chef, Dena Marino. R+B just did a complete interior renovation including lighting, artwork, furniture, kitchen equipment and finishes were redone to match the flavor and essence of the quintessential Italian restaurant. Named after the Valtellina region of Italy, Ellina dishes up earthy, hearty food accompanied by breads and cheeses of the region. The cuisine has been named Italian comfort food and the new interiors capitalize on this theme. An entry canopy of festive welcoming lights overhead leads diners down to the restaurant. Inside, exposed stone walls with floating glass shelves provide a showcase of the earthy style where Ellina originates. A wood slatted bar with a solid wood top adds additional warmth and depth to the overall interior design. The chef's table, a private kitchen table in the kitchen is aptly named "Nona's Table" to honor Dena's Italian heritage. Original artwork by Karl Hollinger adorns the dining area. Light colored furnishing throughout the space contrast with the warm woods and stones of the bar, floors and walls. Find out more about this dynamic restaurateur on this season's Iron Chef airing January 10th.
