  First Meridian Services
Greenwood Village, Colorado
Size: 20,391 square feet
Completion Date: Summer 2008

First Meridian Services provides hospitality development and restaurant management services. Moving to their own building fully redesigned for their needs gives a fresh outlook to this expanding company. The existing building which featured quirky circular stairs and split-face cmu block receives an updated space plan as well as new interior and exterior finishes. The addition of an elevator will be an essential amenity for guests and employees. The lobby features a new barrel vault ceiling, which leads visitors to a custom reception desk of concrete, wood veneer, and a 3-form resin design feature. The first floor features a café-style break room for employee interaction and for entertaining consultants. Finishes and forms throughout the four levels are warm and welcoming, with natural textures and glowing colors in response to First Meridian’s wholehearted hospitality.

Sustainable components of the project include:
Remodeling and reusing an existing 1970’s office building
Concrete reception desk top and fireplace hearths are produced locally and contain recycled content
3-Form accents made of eco-resin
Fluorescent light sources in most locations
Main carpet tile is GreenGuard certified for healthy indoor air quality, contains recycled content, and also contains Puralex, which absorbs odors and VOC emissions from the air
Accent carpet tile is GreenGuard certified for healthy indoor air quality and tile backing contains recycled content
Solid surface countertops contain recycled content and are GreenGuard certified for healthy indoor air quality
Workstations by Knoll are GreenGuard certified, use water-based, VOC-free adhesives and finishes, use recycled metal in components, and are constructed with recycled particleboard
