Joel
S. Haack joel@rowlandbroughton.com Beginning his public accountant tenure in 2001, Joel’s experience was focused on setting up accounting systems for companies to support inventory management, service businesses, retail and construction companies. His knowledge and experience in accounting and business management, has brought detailed financial planning/reporting, budgeting and tax analysis to Rowland+Broughton. Through his work in the construction sector and his personal interest in real estate investment and management, Joel is a true asset to the built environment. Joel was born in Los Angeles and grew up in Albuquerque, NM. He has a strong passion for golf which led him into a short career as a golf instructor before becoming an accountant. He received a bachelor in Business Administration with a Concentration in both Accounting and Finance from the Anderson Schools of Management at the University of New Mexico. During his college tenure, he had the opportunity to work as an intern at a public accounting firm giving him the sling shot into a great career after college. Shortly after graduating he accepted a position at Balise PC, Certified Public Accountant, and worked his way up from a Staff Accountant to Managing Senior Accountant in less than 3 years. Following his mountain dream, he and his fiancée moved to Aspen to take advantage of the active outdoor lifestyle Colorado has to offer. As Controller for Rowland+Broughton, Joel’s responsibilities include maintaining all accounting functions, business and project finances, project budgeting and contracts, managing operating systems including our computer network and related technology, human resources, business development and office administration. Joel’s
contribution to R+B’s business functions helped pave the
way for our recent award into the 2009 PSMJ Circle of Excellence.
The PSMJ Circle of Excellence is determined by weighting each firm’s
ranking in the overall PSMJ A/E Financial Performance Survey with
respect to thirteen individual benchmarks. These benchmarks are
indicative of performance in the various aspects of business operations,
including cash flow, overhead control, business development, project
performance, staff utilization, and overall profitability. |
