Laura
Butler, Allied ASID laura@rowlandbroughton.com Laura was raised in Juneau, Alaska and moved to Florida to attend Ringling School of Art and Design. She received a BFA in Interior Design with honors while gaining experience with an interior designer and a decorative painting company. Working in high-end residential painting was a wonderful way to gain experience in the field. Laura’s professional experience with Carl Abbott FAIA Architect, a prominent Florida architect and member of the Sarasota School of Architecture, provided opportunities to work in residential, multi-family and assisted-living design, and church master planning. Laura also assisted with marketing, graphics presentations, and physical and computer models. The move to Denver was a great transition back to the mountains, but with the added excitement of the cultural opportunities of a larger city. She is currently serving on the Steering Committee for Women in Design Denver as part of the Outreach Committee. Current projects at Rowland+Broughton include a condo renovation, a new office space for a Denver non-profit, and custom residential projects. Recently Laura passed the NCIDQ examination, a national interior design exam administered by the National Council for Interior Design Qualification. The NCIDQ Certificate is a prerequisite for professional registration in many states which require licensing for interior designers. |
