Rowland+Broughton
is a critically thinking architecture and urban design firm, dedicated
to the rigorous pursuit of creative design solutions. Founded in
2003, the principals of R+B draw on their significant public and
private project experience from established firms in Aspen, New
York City and Sydney, Australia. R+B has a diverse project portfolio,
ranging from institutional master planning and new town planning,
to high-end homes and interior design.
As
a design firm, R+B’s foundation for responsive solutions stems
from their philosophy that architecture, landscape, planning
and urban design should be viewed interdependently. The ability
to understand the overlapping disciplines of the built environment
enables R+B to fully address each project from regional and environmental
impacts to social and personal needs. The art of listening is
fundamental to the process; open communication fosters the firm’s
collaborative process resulting in boutique client service
and successful projects. In all their work, R+B strives to exceed
the client’s goals and objectives with solutions that are
innovative, inspirational and delivered on schedule within budget.
In
all their built projects, R+B is dedicated to the craft of building
and its impact to the surrounding environment. The firm seeks to
build sustainable architecture, analyzing environmental decisions
and working with all the trades to seek better, more efficient
methods of design and construction.
Principals
John Rowland and Sarah Broughton have been collaborating on projects
since 1993 and established Rowland+Broughton Architecture and Urban
Design in 2003. Both Rowland and Broughton believe that strong
leadership results in successful projects. Leadership at R+B is
achieved through rigor of design, drive for excellence, clear vision
and focus. Whether orchestrating a large project team or serving
the community as city commissioners, R+B understands that team
dynamic is critical in assuring a project is completed to the highest
standard, on time and on budget. |
