This loft-inspired, light-filled space was mindfully designed with the finest environmentally friendly and low maintenance materials. Originally designed and built for the client in 1971, this concrete mid-century modern home required extensive internal renovation and environmental remediation. Rowland+Broughton’s restoration returns the home to its former glory while enabling a contemporary lifestyle. To emphasize and highlight the existing concrete character of the residence, the design introduced contrasting warm-tone wood millwork throughout, with a focus on the modern kitchen at the heart of the main level.
