The design of this family compound on 40-acres in Woody Creek responds to the three existing historic cabins on the site and its surrounding natural environment of established cottonwoods and rolling pastures. The main residence is inspired by a historic ranch and a western storefront. Brick, stone, and barnwood clad the exterior, and an “old” stone wall define circulation within the house. A pass-through entry courtyard with large sliding barn doors, a swimming pool, and a roof deck are spaces that frame the outdoors with panoramic views.
