Originally from Lake Tahoe, California, Ryan moved to the Roaring Fork Valley with his family over 20 years ago. With a strong desire to marry architecture and skiing, Ryan moved to Montana to attend school. He received his Bachelor of Architecture in 1996 from Montana State University. After graduation he moved back to Aspen where he was granted an internship where he could put his newly acquired knowledge into play.
Following the three-year internship Ryan took a position with Studio B Architecture in Aspen. He gained a tremendous amount of experience in contemporary architecture and learned all aspects and details of the projects he worked on. His passion for architecture is being able to carry a project from concept to completion. He also has an affinity for watching buildings age and how people experience the built environment. While working at Studio B, Ryan received his Masters of Architecture via the distance learning program at Montana State University.
Ryan has over 14 years of professional experience in the Roaring Fork Valley. As a 23 year resident of Aspen, he is extremely knowledgeable in the challenges and rewards of building in the Roaring Fork Valley. He has worked on several AIA award winning residential projects. Ryan has experience in a variety of projects, from custom high-end residential and civic to affordable housing and master planning. He is known for his wide range of architectural abilities and his dedication to each project.
Ryan is married with a daughter and lives in Aspen. He is a member of the American Institute of Architects and is NCARB certified. He is an active member of the Colorado Fourteeners Initiative and the Roaring Fork Volunteers.
