  R+B Denver
Denver, Colorado
Size: 2,090 SF
Phased Remodel Completion Dates: Summer 2005 & Summer 2008

Just northeast of downtown Denver, within the River North Art District (RiNo), our studio is housed in the Silver Square Lofts; Denver’s original loft development. A historic collection of buildings, originally built in the 1930s, it was the first commercial building in Denver converted to lofts in the 1980s. In creating our space, we emphasized the studio work concept, combining it with a live/work environment. To facilitate open and constant dialog between design staff, the main level includes a large open design pod, conference, library space and drawing storage. A mezzanine level open to below contains design bullpens, ancillary conference and library space and a sleeping chamber; all contribute to creating a truly collaborative environment. Custom millwork for work stations, drawing storage and materials library are all built from simple, easily obtainable materials such as Appleply and Hafele hardware and punches of color enhance the space through the use of Interface FLOR carpet tiles.

Sustainable components of the project include:
Interface FLOR carpet tile
Energy efficient lighting
Reuse of an existing space
Low flow plumbing fixtures and dual flush toilets reduce water consumption
Quartz surfacing countertops are GreenGuard certified for healthy indoor air quality and are manufactured in the USA
