Overlooking the Roaring Fork River, the site is relatively flat with three mature cottonwood trees. The site’s inherent natural beauty inspired the orientation of the house, resulting in maximized views of the mountains and the river. The project encompassed four driving concepts; program, context, sustainability and indoor air quality. Simplicity and efficiency were paramount in achieving the client’s goals with a conservative budget. The program was organized around two intersecting boxes resulting in rational interior spaces and outdoor courtyards.
