  Rocket House
Aspen, Colorado
Size: 4,244 Square Feet
Completion Date: Spring 2011

Located in Aspen’s gridded West End neighborhood, the remodel of this traditionally planned home is focused on creating a contemporary residence for a family of six. Built in 1995 as part of a historic split with the neighboring pan abode; the narrow lot resulted in a long and thin “rocket-like” three-story house. Reworking of the original plan in order to maximize the function and space are the goals. On the upper level a new deck is designed and will be accessed via a bridge that will extend the main living area outdoors for the ideal vantage point of Shadow Mountain. New interior finishes are being selected that will complement the existing wood floors. Custom-designed furniture by R+B will be installed that is clean, tailored and comfortable. Custom beds will provide an organized, consistent furniture layout in each bedroom. On the exterior new wood siding modernizes the house and extends the interior modern feel to the exterior.
