Responsibilities
- Research, introduce and drive new modeling and rendering concepts firmwide
- Independently producing photorealistic renderings, artistic and detailed design drawings that effectively convey concepts and designs to clients, architects, interior designers, urban planners, contractors and other design professionals – provide outreach to team
- Providing and applying design options and vetting them thoroughly while actively engaging project
- Meeting deliverable requirements as defined in the Work Plan and project contract using R+B standards
- Foster and mentor project team to push design innovation
- Manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously
- Reviewing their own work before handing over to their supervisor
- Understanding that everything that goes out is marketing and internally, the project material is organized (server, binder, flat file, project samples)
- Encouraging teamwork and positive communications
- Inspiring the team with sincere and passionate work ethic
- Works within the overall project schedule and prioritizes next steps to stay on track
- Exploring and investigating current building sciences and materials and their applicability to projects
- Researching and maintaining current knowledge of building, zoning, energy, accessibility, and other relevant codes as they apply to each project providing information to leadership
- Appropriately applying available design and documentation tools and technology to problem solve, explore, develop, and document design
- Appropriate implementation of computer, VR/AR, and physical modeling on projects
- Maintenance of creative lab software and hardware
- Maintaining knowledge of and effective application of various rendering techniques
- Train team on all VR and creative lab equipment and software
- Spec out new software for creative lab alongside leadership team
- Maintenance of VR software
- Research new software and tools that continue to advance our workflow, present to leadership
- Onboard and train new visual artists
- Independently advancing technical skills with additional software and/or other training
- Appropriately attends continuing education opportunities to remain up-to-date on current design, product, and technical trends
Qualifications
- Has a bachelor's degree in architecture or related degree from an accredited program
- Exercises independent judgment in evaluation, selection, and use of standard techniques, solves typical and conventional problems when encountered, and receives guidance on unusual or complex design problems
- Demonstrates competence in most typical aspects of architecture with three ore more years of experience preferred
- Independently develops and documents project technical strategies, collateral, and deliverables under the Project Manager
- Maintains and applies a developing knowledge of project-relevant codes and building science strategies
- Ability to produce conceptual illustrations, diagrams, as well as artistic and photorealistic renderings while mentoring and supporting team members
- Ability to work and deliver within tight time frames
- Proficient in 3D modeling, rendering, REVIT, AutoCAD, SketchUp, Vray, 3ds Max, Rhino, Grasshopper, Enscape, Adobe Creative Suite, Lumion, Twinmotion and Unreal Engine, and Microsoft Office
- Experience with VR walkthroughs and setups a plus
- Adheres to the work plan and may assist in developing portions in conjunction with the Project Manager

- Salary Range: $64,000-$90,000 (salary DOE, licensure, and location)
