Game On

    Aspen, Colorado

LEED Gold Certified, ‘Game On’ is a modern interpretation of the historic homes from the turn-of-the-century that comprise much of the neighborhood

+  With the clients’ personal and professional lifestyle in mind, the design is intended to accommodate a large number of guests for entertaining yet provide intimacy for private relaxation

+  Pure in form and with modern articulation, it’s modern and efficient with no unused space

The Site:

+  The adjacent home is a true example of a historic miner’s cabin from the 1890s, which originally encompassed one large lot

+  A historic lot split was created by shifting the historic home over to create a new vacant lot

+  The City of Aspen’s Historic Preservation Commission reviewed and approved the design requiring it to be contextual to the historic home with a sympathetic approach to mass, scale, fenestration and materiality

+  The interior pallate features calm and tranquil wood tones with custom built-ins and furniture

+  The open floor plan connects the indoor and outdoor spaces with sliding glass pocket doors, allowing for entertaining large groups, simple gatherings, or peaceful relaxation

+  The exterior façade was intended to bring a sense of clarity and precision while utilizing traditional materials
