ASPEN, CO — September 14, 2022 — Rowland+Broughton Architecture / Urban Design / Interior Design is honored to announce that two team members have been elevated to Principal, and three team members have been promoted.

R+B Principal-Owner and Project Manager Craig Lawrence, AIA, has been a member of the R+B team for over a decade. An avid collaborator, one of his strengths is building a team with common consensus and purpose. Acknowledging his promotion to Principal, he shares, “R+B is a special place to be. The super-talented team, the inspired design, the exceptional business practice, all combine to make this firm unique. I have been fortunate to be a part of it for over a decade, contributing as an emerging professional all the way to Associate and on all manner of projects, but I am even more fortunate to have the opportunity to contribute at this elevated level. I believe wholeheartedly in what Sarah (Broughton) and John (Rowland) have worked tirelessly to create – this amazing culture of excellence – and am beyond honored and excited to contribute to that tradition. “

R+B Principal-Owner and Project Manager Will Otte, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, has 13 years of experience working in the field of architecture. Originally from Aspen, he was exposed at a young age to architecture and construction through homes his family built in the area. His path at R+B began early as an emerging professional. A transition to Denver to complete graduate school and gain licensure evolved into a leadership position at R+B and has ultimately come full circle with his promotion to Principal. About his promotion, he shares, “Over the course of my career I have had the opportunity to work with some amazing clients and amazing colleagues. It has been a journey, but the journey is the most important part. We are fortunate to be in a profession that continues to evolve, and each day presents new challenges and new opportunities. There is always something to learn in order to be better the next time. Our incredible team at R+B continues to push boundaries and look towards what is next. I could not be in the position I am today without the support of amazing teams, amazing clients, and thoughtful mentors. I am honored to be recognized in this position and very excited about the prospects ahead of us. We have some great opportunities on the horizon and I’m excited to see how we can continue to elevate and push the envelope.”

Sustainability Architectural Manager–Project Architect Marisol Foreman, LEED, NCARB has nearly a decade of experience in the field of architecture. LEED accredited with a specialty in Building Design and Construction, she strives to implement sustainable design practices in every project. Prior to R+B, she worked on several transit-oriented projects in Munich for Albrecht und Partner, as well as religious and multi-family housing projects for atelierjones in Seattle, WA. Marisol received her Bachelor of Environmental Design with an Architecture focus from the University of Colorado at Boulder and her Master of Architecture with a Sustainable Systems and Design Degree Focus and Daylighting Certificate from the University of Washington in Seattle, WA. An active member of AIA Colorado, she is a part of the Design Awards Committee. “I am excited to continue pushing our sustainability efforts at Rowland+Broughton,” Marisol notes about her promotion. “As a firm, we take our dedication to beautiful design and detailing and apply it to designing projects that also perform well. Our sustainability efforts go beyond just an energy focus to also include resiliency and occupant well-being. Our buildings can perform better, are enduring, and contribute to a healthier built environment for our clients. What’s not to love?!”

Senior Visual Artist Niklos Toldi joined R+B as a Visual Artist with a background in interior architecture after completing several professional internships working on retail commercial interiors in cities such as Chicago and San Francisco. Throughout his career, he has developed hard skills in architectural design and representational technology as well as a passion for using these tools to articulate architecture as a series of buildable pieces and a means of expressing the emotion of space through storytelling. He strives to bring a fresh perspective and new technologies to the firm to push the world of architectural representation forward while seeking his professional licensure. Born and raised in Tennessee and a graduate of the University of Tennessee, Knoxville’s Master of Architecture program, he is an avid lover of film and furniture design. “I am excited about stepping into this new position with Rowland Broughton,” he shares. “This promotion clearly demonstrates R+B’s investment in and commitment to pushing the boundaries on technology and architectural visualization. I am thankful for the opportunity and look forward to doing big things with this amazing team of talented designers.”

Senior Visual Artist Jacob George has a background in lighting design and a diverse project history ranging from multifamily to healthcare and retail. Before coming to R+B, he worked as a lighting designer and architectural designer during his final year at the University of Colorado Boulder. He has a passion for architecture and design, but an even stronger passion for the arts and technologies that support the field. Born and raised in Denver, Colorado, he enjoys all that the state has to offer. About his new position, he notes, “I’m grateful to the firm for this opportunity. The “viz” team has been doing a lot of great work over the past few years, and I’m looking forward to the exciting things we will do in the future.”
