R+B Honored By LUXE Interiors + Design Magazine and The Hospitality Industry Network NEWH Rocky Mountain Chapter

Luxe Interiors + Design magazine honors R+B project Sopris Ranch residence with a 2018 Luxe RED Award

Hospitality Industry Network NEWH Rocky Mountain Chapter selects R+B as a 2018 TopID firm

ASPEN, CO — May 1, 2018 — Rowland+Broughton Architecture / Urban Design / Interior Design is proud to announce that our studios have been honored by two high-profile entities in the architecture and interior design fields: Luxe Interiors + Design magazine and the Hospitality Industry Network NEWH Rocky Mountain Chapter.

Luxe Interiors + Design magazine honors R+B project Sopris Ranch residence with a 2018 Luxe Residential Excellence in Design (RED) Award for Classic Architecture in the Colorado Region. Winners were announced on April 25 by Luxe editor-in-chief Pamela Jaccarino, at the inaugural Luxe RED Awards celebration held in The Penthouse at NeueHouse Madison Square in New York City.

Located in Carbondale, Colorado, on a significant site overlooking grazing land in the foreground and the Elk Mountains in the background, Sopris Ranch pays homage to historical Colorado architecture, pared down in a simple, modern translation. A central axis connects the program of kitchen, dining, living and sleeping under a single extended roof form, which also informs the indoor and outdoor spaces. Called a “breezeway cabin,” this organization style is typical of the western ranch vernacular.

Hospitality Industry Network NEWH Rocky Mountain Chapter selects R+B as a 2018 TopID firm. The TopID (Interior Design) winners were announced on April 25 at the Rocky Mountain NEWH annual Haute Seat event, Spotlight Edition, at the Artwork Network Gallery in Denver, Colorado.

R+B projects submitted for the nomination included Colorado projects Matsuhisa Restaurant in Denver and Breckenridge Residence Inn in Breckenridge, and Idaho project The Limelight Hotel in Ketchum. Criteria for nominations included consideration of a firm’s quality design work in the hospitality industry, membership and support the firm has provided their NEWH chapter, and projects with photography completed within the last 18 months. Not only are firms acknowledged by their local community as a leader in hospitality design, they are also celebrated internationally across the vast network of professionals in the industry.

Rowland+Broughton Principal, Sarah Broughton, AIA, comments, “It is an honor to be recognized by such respected entities, both of which are dedicated to acknowledging the extraordinary efforts of design professionals. A Luxe RED Award elevates our architecture and interior design efforts to a national platform, while being named a NEWH TopID firm reinforces our design team’s commitment to excellence in the hospitality industry. As we celebrate our 15th anniversary this year, we continuously strive to maintain a balance between professional growth and providing exceptional projects for our clients.”

About the 2018 Luxe RED Awards

Residential Excellence in Design is a submission-based design awards program honoring excellence, innovation and the best residential architecture, interior design and landscape architecture projects from across the country. In conjunction with Luxe Interiors + Design’s Editor-in-Chief and editorial team, a multidisciplinary panel of notable industry experts reviewed submissions of residential projects in nine categories and selected the winners. Each project was evaluated on its own merits according to criteria including aesthetics, regional relevance and creativity. Winners are acknowledged online, via social media, in-book and at events via Luxe’s national platform.
