As featured in our upcoming book

Creek House | Rocky Mountains

In our upcoming book featuring ten houses in the Rocky Mountains, Creek House is set within an open pasture bound by a rushing creek and a treed hillside. This peaceful creekside home entices several generations to come together and relax in a beautiful natural setting.

Inspired by the vision of the multiple-family owners, the design team created a significantly sized great room with purposefully programmed and appointed seating and gathering areas, all with views oriented toward the creek and access to a wraparound porch. A dining table large enough to seat 30 became a singular focal point. A warm, modern kitchen adjoins the space. We were delighted to collaborate on the interiors with Samantha Crasco and Sarah Collum-Hatfield to bring this space to life.

Building a story around an existing stone structure, added onto with a more modern farmhouse connected by a glass link, exterior materials including stone veneer and wood siding speak to the agricultural nature and history of the locale.

Sneak Peak

Sharing a few photos of our Creek House project as it appears on the pages of our new book, Designing Aspen The Houses of Rowland+Broughton.

Providing moments of privacy and repose yet small enough to encourage interaction in public spaces, all five bedrooms and bathrooms were assigned unique characteristics, personality, and color palettes, extending to soft goods, woodwork, and tiling.

Active and passive systems were installed to reduce the home’s carbon footprint, enhance energy performance, and ensure that the natural beauty of the property is maintained.
