R+B Promotes, Elevates Team Members In Two Studios

ASPEN, CO — September 8, 2022 — Rowland+Broughton Architecture / Urban Design / Interior Design is pleased to announce that two team members have been promoted to Owner and four current Owners have elevated Ownership shares.

Associate-Project Manager Brandon Herbst has been promoted to Owner in the Denver studio and Director of Human Services Shana Broback was promoted to Owner in the Aspen Studio. In addition, Denver studio Owners Craig Lawrence, AIA, Will Otte, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, and Leslie Cope, IIDA, along with Aspen studio Owner Steve Harris, AIA, LEED AP, have elevated Ownership shares.

R+B Owner-Project Manager Brandon Herbst completed his Bachelor of Architecture from California Polytechnic Institute San Luis Obispo and received the AIAOC Service Award in 2018 for his work on the AIAOC Design Awards committee. He is currently an active member of Denver’s Lower Downtown Urban Design Committee. With over a decade of experience in the field of architecture and interior design, Herbst provides a unique perspective on technology’s role in the design, communication, and project delivery process. “I am thrilled to join the Ownership group at Rowland+Broughton,” he shares about his promotion to Ownership. “I love the way we invest in our employees and look forward to many years of growth with this group of esteemed colleagues!”

R+B Owner-Director of Human Resources Shana Broback has over a decade of experience working in the human resources field and achieved her SHRM-CP designation in 2016. A passionate and strategic leader who supports all stakeholders with a unique perspective, she appreciates that people are every organization’s greatest asset. About her promotion to Ownership, she shares, “Having the opportunity to be a part of the leadership team at R+B is humbling and rewarding. It is an honor to work alongside such an exceptional group.”

R+B Owner and Project Manager Craig Lawrence, AIA, has been a member of the R+B team for over a decade.  As a licensed architect and avid collaborator, a singular personal strength is building a team with common consensus and purpose. “I know that the team at R+B and our collective experience are our greatest assets,” he notes. “To be a leader and have the opportunity to share in the ownership of the firm only strengthens this conviction. With a dedicated and committed team, we freely bring our passion for design to work every day.”

R+B Owner and Project Manager Will Otte, AIA, LEED AP BD+C, has 13 years of experience working in the field of architecture. Over his tenure at R+B, he has progressed from an initial role as emerging professional to team leader and mentor, along the way achieving Licensure and contributing to the design and construction of multiple award-winning projects including Ridge House, Meadow House, Mountain Retreat, Hotel Jerome, and Victorian Square. “I am greatly honored to be working alongside such a talented group of colleagues,” he shares. “I’m thrilled that we are able to offer ownership opportunities to our team and look forward to continuing to craft great design together.”

R+B Owner and Project Manager Leslie Cope, IIDA, graduated from California State University at Long Beach, where she earned a Bachelor of Fine Art in Interior Architectural Design. She has a talent for pairing existing conditions with the new to create a harmonious well-rounded atmosphere. Along with an adaptable, creative approach to existing spaces, she can conceive of up a new ground-up space beautifully and thoughtfully. “Being a part of the leadership team has created the most rewarding and beneficial lens of how to be and do my best, and being an Owner only enhances this,” she emphasizes. “It is very exciting.”

R+B Owner and Project Manager Steve Harris, AIA, NCARB, LEED AP, is a licensed architect with nearly two decades of experience working on high-end residential, multi-family, mixed-use, and commercial projects. Steve’s passion for design and construction is evident in his attention to detail and methodical process to serving both projects and clients. From studying in Florence, Italy to working in Dubai, UAE, or scuba diving in the Caribbean, Steve is always exploring how other cultures utilize design to create shelter with timeless details. “Being a part of the leadership group at R+B is rewarding and humbling,” he notes, “I am honored and excited for the future.”
